Novated Leasing & Salary Packaging

In response to the 2018 Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, the Government responded to the findings of the Royal Commission and recommended the introduction of a range of reforms.

October 2021 saw a number of reforms brought in by ASIC.

  • Deferred Sales Model for Add On Insurance Products.
  • Reference checking and information sharing requirements.
  • Breach Reporting and the ‘notify, investigate and remediate’ obligations.
  • Design and Distribution Obligations.
  • Hawking.
  • Internal dispute resolution.

Meet Edward Mountford

Eddie is a Novated Leasing consultant who was born and raised in the NT. He has helped thousands of people get the car they want and feel great about themselves. Eddie has an uncanny knack of making it all quite simple and painless. He finds that our members keep going back to him for their next car, their family’s car, and their friends’ car too.

When did you commence with Paywise? May 2016

Why did you want to work with Paywise? I wanted to work for a company that valued its employees and somewhere with potential career growth

What are your hobbies? I enjoy fishing, camping, swimming, renovating, gardening, snowboarding and travel.

Do you have any pets? If not, if you were to come back to this life as an animal, insect or bird, what would you come back as and why? Probably a monkey as they always seem to be having fun

Favourite band and why? Muse – Great Live

Favourite movie or series and why? One of my favourite movies is Shawshank Redemption, it’s just a classic that you should see if you haven’t already.

The Paywise App was launched  on the 20th of October 2021, and is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Stores.

Is a Used Car a better option today?

Whether it’s a global computer chip shortage that has crippled car production or pent-up demand caused by coronavirus pandemic restrictions, new cars are in short supply.

Whilst a new car is generally everyone’s first choice, you are much more likely to get the car you want as a used car, because it’s available now!

If we focus on what the upside might be for a used car, we consider the following:

  • Ideally, most of the depreciation has been incurred.
  • Your budget may get you a higher spec’d version of the car you want.
  • Manufacturer warranties are longer nowadays so you may find the used car you want that still has a manufacturer warranty.
  • All the data on reliability and common problems is widely available.
  • Cars last longer today so a used car is still a very good option.

Encourage your staff and colleagues to consider this option if your new car is many, many months away, by speaking with a Paywise novated lease consultant now.

Tips and Hints

Help your staff to salary package, whatever their move is over the Christmas, New Year period!

It’s this time of year, more so than any other time, that we see staff movement. If you have any staff either commencing or leaving, please have them touch base with us as soon as possible and we’ll assist them and you, that’s what we’re here for!  Particularly those who might be leaving your organisation, Hospital or School, getting the ball rolling early goes a long way.  We can have those new starters organised to go from the first pay day in 2022 where applicable.

Payroll! Let us know if you require the Payroll-Deduction-Advices earlier than usual and we’ll organise it for you.  If you let us know when they’re required by, along with when funds would be transferred to Paywise, that would help immensely. If you have an emergency point of contact should we need to make contact over the Christmas, New Year period, please let us know that as well.
