Paywise Cards are accepted anywhere that Mastercard is accepted, including online. You can use the Meal Entertainment card at merchants that meet the required criteria for the Meal Entertainment benefit (see below).
To qualify as Meal Entertainment, expenses generally need to involve dining out in a social setting, such as meals or drinks shared with others at restaurants, cafes or similar venues. This benefit is designed for social dining experiences, rather than everyday food or takeaway purchases.
The fastest and most convenient way to manage your Meal Entertainment benefit is with the Paywise Card*, allowing you to pay for your Meal Entertainment expenses directly without needed to submit claims. However, for eligible members without a Paywise Card linked to their Meal Entertainment benefit, a reimbursement claim can be submitted via the Paywise App (Android or Apple) or via the Member Portal. Once approved, your claim will be reimbursed directly into your nominated bank account.

Please note that you must be registered for this benefit in order to submit a claim.
Some employers, including WA Health, require all Meal Entertainment benefit payments to be made via the Paywise Card.
*Card fees apply.
The Meal Entertainment benefit has a cap of $2,650 that applies to the FBT Year, spanning from 1 April to 31 March. Any unspent balance at the end of the FBT Year will rollover into the next FBT Year. You won’t lose the funds – they will still remain on your card – however, they will effectively reduce your entitlement for the next FBT Year, meaning you may not be maximising the tax benefits you’re eligible for.
As the end of the FBT Year approaches, you may wish to consider spending your Paywise Meal Entertainment Card balance by 8.59pm AWST / 11.59pm AEDT on 31 March.
